Indochine Deco was founded in 2018 by Caroline. What started out as a passion and hobby turned into a business. There’s the quote “Love what you do, and you don’t have to work a day in your life” and that applies to I.D. 
 
Caroline has an extensive background in global fashion marketing (Ralph Lauren, Gant) and beauty (Lancome) from both NYC to Paris. The inspiration throughout the years living and working abroad and experiencing production of great products have given her a great foundation. Especially the years at Ralph Lauren have really gotten her smitten with the ’more is more’ aestetic when it comes to design.
 
The ‘Indochine’ name came about quite naturally. Caroline has always been inspired by that region especial the colonial style. Also, it was the name of her favorite restaurant in NYC.

Our working process

The typical process for an assignment is as follows:

Design/mood boarding:

  1. First meeting in the space in question.
  2. A style guide is created based on the architecture, fixed elements, natural lighting, and colour scheme of the apartment.
  3. Mood board per room based on selected direction in style guide. A moodboard is either digital or physical (or both) and included fabric suggestions, furniture suggestions, room layout based on flow and usage purpose, colour choices, accent colours, material (wood, stone, brass/chrome etc), stucco, joinery, panelling (if applicable) paint colours, lighting options and layout.
  4. Potential re-work of moodboard based on feedback.

Quotations and purchases:

  1. Based on approved mood boards, CR will collect estimate proposals from sub-contractors corresponding to choices. Once estimate is approved ordering will take place.
  2. CR will work with assigned contractors in order to get quantity quotations etc for all orders.
  3. CR will work with sub-contractors to optimise any joinery and guide the process. Once all in place, the proposal is sent for approval. CR will provide drawings for design, technical drawings done by the assigned carpenter/builder etc. This is optimal for any and all insurance matters and approval from municipality.

Install:

  1. Orders will arrive to client directly or to I.D for storage until all items are received.
  2. CR will guide process for all design related questions, such as painting techniques, wall paper mount, panelling etc. CR is the building managers primary point of contact throughout the process and will update client on a weekly basis (or more often, if needed) so clients don’t have to be involved in all decision making.
  3. Styling and final modifications are done, furniture placement, lighting adjustment, curtain installations etc.

Documentation and photo op:

CR has the right to shoot all interior&furniture provided by I.D. in-situ for portfolio, client decides if they want to be featured in magazine.

Terms and conditions

Designs and proprietary information:

All designs are trademarked and property of Indochine Deco unless otherwise decided I.D has the right to document finished design and use in porfolio for reference, and on social media platforms. If not agreed upon, client has to notify before work commences as this affects the hourly rate. Sub contractor and network are private.. This is information gathered during years of work and investigation. Hiring I.D. will give the client access to this network but client will
not have access to full disclosure of list.

Pricing structure:

There are fixed fees associated with first start up meeting (5K SEK ex VAT) and mood boarding (varies from 20K to 50k based on scope of work) digital moodboarding comes with a 30% discount. If Indochine Deco subcontractors (builders) are used, I.D.can issue ROT avdrag according to Skatteverkets terms and conditions.

Hourly rates are 1200kr/hr without VAT.

Hourly rates are always broken up in 30 min intervals.

Hourly rates do NOT include tolls, parking and deliveries. All purchases managed by I.D are subject to a 20% surcharge. All prices quoted by I.D. is WITHOUT VAT if not mentioned otherwise.

Quality assurance and safe guarding:

If a chosen sub contractor has failed to do design according to brief, I.D will withhold payment to aforementioned contractor until issue is resolved to the clients satisfaction. All work are meticulously briefed with a Purchase Order as written confirmation, in order to avoid any mistakes or misunderstandings. All drawings are done in CADs for 3D visualization along with a PDF with detailed measurements.

Liability and insurance:

All suppliers to Indochine Deco have their own insurance and are not the responsibility of I.D.

Disagreement:

If there is a disagreement of any kind between I.D. and client, the collaboration can seize at any time but only by a written notification.

Other:

Indochine Deco AB is fully insured and has F-skattesedel, VAT number and IORI number.
